Resources and Capabilities

The precasting operation at Teralba on the north-west bank of Lake Macquarie, 1 hour north of Sydney, is among the largest and most modern manufacturing facility of its kind in Australia.

Plant and equipment is available for very large-scale precasting output required to meet the most demanding needs of major infrastructure projects.

Typically the plant can manufacture simultaneously up to 5 major Super-T girders, 15-20 planks, piles, headstocks and a host of other custom designed precast elements on a daily manufacturing cycle. The plant is equipped and capable of providing individual elements which are among the largest and heaviest that can be transported on the Australian road network.

Components of span greater than 40 metres and mass exceeding 150 tonnes are regularly despatched from the Teralba plant.

Such demanding output is available from 9 permanent high capacity prestressing beds and several precasting bays

The operations are supported by comprehensive infrastructure for servicing and curing. The curing facilities include 3 large boiler installations and a steam distribution network utilised for accelerated curing and strength gain of concrete by steam curing.
